Karen M. Ponce de LeónGrowing up in the Sandhills of Nebraska, Karen attended the University of Nebraska before moving to Portland. In 1976, Karen was just the tenth woman to ever hold a securities license in the State of Oregon. Karen helps with the non-profit, Operation Sacred Hearts, which sends clothing, sewing machines, and small tools to third world countries, is active at Immaculate Heart of Mary church, plus is a former member of the Oregon Hospice board and American Business Women’s Association. She relaxes by cooking Danish and South American cuisines, designing heirloom baptism and first communion dresses—and also enjoys clam digging, camping, bicycling, and hiking.
